To report a hazard, tap Report hazard on the map screen (or long-press the map). To report an offensive note or photo, tap the hazard's pin and choose Report or block…. You can also block the driver who posted it, which hides everything from them on your phone.
RoutePathIQ offers a curated set of drives within a day-trip of where you are, and leaves out roads that are typically closed for the season (for example mountain passes in winter). Coverage is still growing. Closures are typical dates, not live status — always check current conditions before you go.
Wherever you are, Cruise Mode also plans drives that start and end at your location, through nearby towns, avoiding freeways and roads marked as unpaved. They're scored the same way as every other road. Nobody has driven them in advance, so watch the road and the signs.
Partly. Tap Save on a drive to keep it on your phone: it opens from Saved drives on the home screen with no signal, showing the road, its score when you saved it, and the hazards reported along it then. Cruise Mode also shows the last drives it loaded nearby, marked with when they were loaded. Live scores, traffic, weather and the map's background need a connection. Hazard reports made with no signal are sent automatically when you're back online.
Pick a drive in Cruise Mode (or open a saved drive) and tap Export GPX / JSON. The file has the drive's start, via and end points; your GPS or maps app plans its own route between them, so follow the road names to stay on the drive.
The slider sets how curvy a road you want, from straightest to curviest. Each road is scored by how closely it matches your setting, combined with live traffic, weather, road quality and scenery. Move the slider and the list re-ranks instantly.
To start routes from where you are, center the map, and find drives near you. It also checks your speed, on your phone only, so it can ask you to pull over before you report a road hazard. It asks only while you're using the app. You can turn it off in iPhone Settings and choose a starting point by hand.
On the home screen, switch off Share anonymous usage. To have the usage events tied to your phone deleted, email privacy@routepathiq.com with the anonymous ID shown just below that switch. RoutePathIQ has no accounts, so that ID is how we find your data. See the Privacy Policy.
No. It rates roads and shows them on a map; use your own judgment and a navigation app to get there. Obey speed limits and traffic laws, and don't use the app while driving.
