The rules for using RoutePathIQ, in plain terms.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Snare Intelligence Labs, LLC ("we", "us") about your use of the RoutePathIQ app. By tapping "I agree" or using the app you accept them, our Privacy Policy, and the HERE End User Terms, which apply to the routing, traffic, search and weather data in the app. If you don't agree, don't use the app. For iOS downloads, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these Terms about the app itself, Apple's terms govern, and Apple is not responsible for the app or for support.
RoutePathIQ rates roads and routes and shows them on a map. It is not a turn-by-turn navigation system. Scores, rankings and "curviness" are guidance about a road's character; they are not a statement that a road is safe, open, legal for your vehicle, or suited to your skill.
Some drives are planned automatically from where you are, by joining nearby towns with roads chosen by a routing provider. Nobody has driven or reviewed these drives in advance. They avoid freeways and roads the provider marks as unpaved, but they can still include roads that are narrow, unpaved, private, closed, or unsuitable for your vehicle. Watch the road and the signs, and turn back if a road isn't right.
Road, traffic, weather, closure, seasonal and work-zone information comes from third parties, from typical seasonal patterns, and from other drivers. It may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Mountain and seasonal roads can close without notice. Saved drives and drives shown while you're offline reflect conditions when they were last loaded, not now. Check current conditions with the road authority before you go.
You can submit hazard reports (a type, an optional short note, an optional photo, and a location). By submitting one you confirm it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it, and you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and display it to other drivers.
No tolerance for objectionable content. You may not post anything that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, threatening or misleading; that identifies a person or vehicle (names, faces, licence plates); that contains links, phone numbers, email addresses or advertising; or that you do not have the right to share. The app filters notes for some of this, but filtering is not perfect.
Reporting and blocking. Any driver can report a hazard report in the app (tap its pin, then "Report or block…") or block the anonymous device that sent it. We aim to review reports within 48 hours, and we may remove content, and stop accepting reports from a device, that breaks these Terms. Reported content is hidden from the person who reported it immediately.
Don't scrape the app or its servers, probe or reverse-engineer how roads are scored, interfere with the service, or use it to harm others. The scoring methods, road data and software are our property and our trade secrets; we license you the app for personal, non-commercial use only.
The app uses services from other companies, including HERE Technologies (routing, traffic, geocoding, search and weather), Apple Maps, Supabase (hazard reports) and the Colorado Department of Transportation (work zones). Their terms apply to their content, and we are not responsible for their services. Source notices are in the app under "About & legal". To compute routes, traffic and weather, your location and the places you search for are sent to HERE Technologies; see the HERE End User Terms and HERE Privacy Policy.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or any road information in it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us for the app in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these Terms; if the change matters we'll ask you to agree again. We may suspend or end access to the app for anyone who breaks these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, except where your local law requires otherwise.
